Firework
is the name of the group that Leif Elggren and Thomas Liljenberg founded in 1978 and under
which they have put on several exhibitions and performances. As a result of the
philosophical discussion engendered by the underlying essence of this work, a small
publishing company, Firework Edition, was started in 1979. It has since then brought out
many books and other printed matter, multiples and records and put on a number of
exhibitions, not only by the founders, but also as a result of collaboration with various
other artists. In 1995 Firework Edition Records and Firework Edition Video was started by Kent Tankred and Leif Elggren... The book Experiment with Dreams, Stockholm 1996, contains more than 200 letters written to powerful and famous persons and institutions all over the world during a period of one year. Illustrations and an informative preface together with the letters make the book a comprehensible but horrifying reflection of the social and economical state of the world today. In connection with the book a CD has been released on Firework Edition Records: Zzz... (As close as we can get to the dream.) |
